I received my M.S. in Hospitality and Tourism from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. I then spent most of the next 13 years in individual and multi-unit hotel operations and marketing. I also worked for the Minnesota Office of Tourism with tourism marketing and promotion.

My major interests are the preparation of students for the challenges of today's hotel & restaurant industry. I am also very interested in hotel and hospitality operational and marketing issues, especially the challenges presented by tight and diverse labor markets and the high level of competition in the marketplace.
